technology made WW1 heavily trench based; unlike previous wars, the battles of WW1 did not amount to much movement/ land gain. because of new technology like poison gas and heavy artillery, trench warfare was quite common.
I really think it was theM1 rifle,I can't think of anything else. I do know that they had communication by telegraph.I was born after WW2.
