The war was started due to the assassination Franz Ferdinand ( A important political figure), his wife and unborn child of Austria Hungary by Sebian man, after several attacks from other serbians. Austria Hungary was outraged and they declare war on Serbia.
There were territorial disputes between Russia and the ottoman Empire. This caused conflict between them and dragged their allies into the war
Germany tried to become a political power and took a lot of land from neiboring countires. Odviously the other countries were not okay with this and then on came the war.
