It has been scientifically proven that mothers are born with the instinct to mother a child. Nursing is in our blood. I don't necessarily think they're better than fathers at care giving and nurturing, because some fathers are really good at those things. But, it comes more naturally to us girls. I think parental roles are somewhat defined by nature, but mostly by actions. This definitely does affect the society and the environment we are brought up in.

I agree. I think parental roles are defined BOTH by nature and the environment we are brought up in. Men are generally more muscular than women, and therefore are providers, while women are naturally more gentle and caring, which is why they are nurturers. In ancient times, this was automatic. Today, things are changing, but parental roles are still clearly defined by nature.
