Well, if the habitat is different colors that would affect a species fur color for say. The slightest difference in a habitat would make a big difference in how something evolves. If one honeycreeper lived in a slightly colder habitat they would evolve to grow more feathers than a honeycreeper that lived in a warmer habitat. Same goes for color, if a honeycreeper lived in a more dull colored habitat their feathers would be more stale and dull colored rather than one who lives in a more vibrant and colorful habitat. This is so they naturally camouflage better with their environment.
