A steady stream of liquid in turbulent flow is heated by passing it through a long, straight, heated pipe, the temperature of the pipe is assumed to be greater by a constant amount than the average temperature of the liquid. It is found that the rate of heat transfer Q (W/m2) depends on the factors such as diameter of pipe D, velocity of liquid v, density of liquid rho, viscosity of liquid , specific heat capacity Cp (J/ kg K), thermal conductivity of liquid k (W/m K) and temperature difference between wall and liquid ΔT.
Find the relationship that can be used to predict the rate of heat transfer from the wall of pipe to the liquid.
