length = L and width = W
So as the perimeter = 11.9 cm we can write:_

2L + 2W = 11.9
doubling the width, we have:-
2L + 4W = 15.8  Subtracting this equation from the first, we have

-2W = -3.9
W = -3.9 / -2 = 1.95

2L + 3.9 = 11.9

L = 8/2 = 4

Answer:- length of smaller rectangle = 4 and width = 1.95.
