Kamila had 2kg of meat. She used 3/10 of it to cook curry and 1/2 of the remainder to cook soup
A) How much meat did she use to cook curry? Give your answer in kilograms.
B) How many grams of meat had she left

Answer :

We will work in grams to eliminate decimals
First, find out what the 3/10 is
2000g / 10 = 200g
200g x 3 = 600g for curry
600g / 1000 = 0.6kg for curry

Work out how much is left over
2000g - 600g = 1400g
Work out how much was used for the soup
1400g / 2 = 700g for soup

Work out many grams are remaining
2000g - 600g - 700g = 700g

A) 0.6kg
B)700g
